Professors Evangelia Kotzias Atherino dos Santos and Marli Terezinha Stein Backes, from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, in Florianópolis, Brazil, visited the Nursing School of Coimbra (ESEnfC) from July 3 to 7.
The Professors were welcomed by the ESEnfC’s National and International Relations Office (GRNI) and visited the Health Sciences Research Unit: Nursing (UICISA: E), where they met with doctoral students Andressa Melo and Lenise Dutra and their supervisors.
The nursing Professors from Florianópolis visited the Norton de Matos Health Center - Community Care Unit, the Bissaya Barreto Maternity Hospital, and the Maria Repenicado Dias Laboratory. Additionally, they had the opportunity to get to know the ESEnfC’s simulation laboratory focused on maternal and obstetric health, located at the ESEnfC Campus B in São Martinho do Bispo.
The professors also met with Professor Maria Neto, the coordinator of the Women’s Health Nursing Network of Portuguese-speaking countries, and Professor Dulce Galvão, the vice-coordinator of the Scientific-Pedagogical Unit of Child Health and Adolescent Nursing.
On July 10, Professors Juliana Rezende Montenegro Medeiros de Moraes and Ivone Evangelista Cabral, along with doctoral student Fernanda Borges Pessanha and post-doctoral student Renata de Moura Bubadué, all from the Anna Nery Nursing School at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, also visited the ESEnfC.
After attending a seminar on Child and Pediatric Health Nursing for their Master’s program, where experiences related to “Children at Risk and Vulnerable Children” were shared, the visitors had the opportunity to meet with António Fernando Amaral, the President of the ESEnfC, and João Alves Apóstolo, the scientific coordinator of the UICISA: E.
The day-long program also included visits to the UICISA: E facilities and the Coimbra Pediatric Hospital.
