The Nursing School of Coimbra (ESEnfC) has received the Erasmus+ Award for Best Practices 2017, a recognition of the quality of its student, faculty, and staff mobility programmes under the scope of the European Union’s program for education, training, youth, and sport, which extends to 2020.
The award ceremony was held this morning in Coimbra at the Foundation Bissaya Barreto as part of an initiative organised by the Agência Nacional Erasmus+ Educação e Formação (ANE+EF) and the Agência Nacional Erasmus+ Juventude em Ação.
The ESEnfC President, Maria da Conceição Bento, and the coordinator of the ESEnfC National and International Relations Office, Fernando Amaral, received the award from the Secretary of State for Science, Technology, and Higher Education, Maria Fernanda Rollo, and the ANE+EF director, Joana Mira Godinho.
This award results from ANE+EF evaluation of the ESEnfC mobility periods of 89 students, 35 teachers, and 5 staff members between June 2015 and September 2016 in other European institutions.
The ANE+EF underlined that “the [ESEnfC] project is well executed both financially and in the number of mobility periods” (118 received EU funding and 11 were funded by the School), which results in a “very positive management”.
The ESEnfC’s final report had a classification of 90/100 points. According to the ANE+EF, the program “is clearly at the service of the higher education institution’s strategy for modernization and internationalization, which had a very positive quantitative and qualitative evolution, investing several human and financial resources (the co-funding corresponds to 5% of the awarded grant) and monitoring the activities in an effective way”.
