The renowned British nurse and international nursing consultant, Jane Salvage (in the photo), will give the inaugural lecture entitled “Nurses' contributions to global health” at the opening ceremony of the academic year of the Nursing School of Coimbra (ESEnfC). The ceremony will begin with a musical performance by the School’s choir.
In Campus B, the president of the Students Association, Inês Pereira, and the School President, Maria da Conceição Bento, will also address the guests.
Then, the induction ceremony of the new Phi Xi chapter members will be held. Sigma Theta Tau International aims to promote nursing leadership and the development of the nursing profession in clinical practice, education, and research with a view to improving the health of the populations.
Thirteen undergraduate students will also receive the Marta Lima Basto award for academic merit. This moment will be followed by the first activity within the scope of the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the street intervention project Antes que te Queimes.
The ceremony will end with a musical performance by the students of the Tuna de Enfermagem de Coimbra.
