The Minister of Health has awarded the Nursing School of Coimbra (ESEnfC) with the Gold Medal for Services to the State considering the school to be “a reference, within the country and abroad, in the development and assertion of the Nursing discipline by providing training in collaboration with health and higher education institutions, both at the national and international levels”.

This medal was awarded during the commemoration of the World Health Day, April 7th, at the Thalia Theater, in Lisbon, in recognition of the School’s “achievements in the training of young professionals”.
Professor Aida Cruz Mendes, Vice-President of the ESEnfC, accepted the medal that honors the “first Nursing School in Portugal”, founded in 1881.
The Minister Adalberto Campos Fernandes, and the Secretaries of State Fernando Araújo and Manuel Delgado, were present at the award ceremony.
