Internationalization: ESEnfC extends cooperation to 13 new institutions

 

The Nursing School of Coimbra (ESEnfC) established 13 new bilateral agreements and cooperation protocols with European and American higher education institutions, in the academic year 2015-2016.

These data were presented during the International Week which took place in May under the theme "The Portuguese language in the world".

Three institutions from Spain (Universidad Pontifical Comillas, Universidad de Cadiz and Universidad of Jaen), two from Turkey (Istanbul University and Afyon Kocatepe University), one from Belgium (Haute École Provinciale of Hainaut -Condorcet), one from England (Middlesex University London), one from Germany (Hochschule für Gesundheit) and another from France (Institut de Formation Interhospitalier Théodore Simon) signed new bilateral agreements with the ESEnfC, in this academic year.

The ESEnfC also established cooperation partnerships with Colombia (National University of Colombia), Mexico (National Autonomous University of Mexico and UJED - Universidad de Juárez del Estado de Durango) and Brazil (Centro Universitário Barão de Mauá).

 

 

The ESEnfC has more than 70 active cooperation agreements and protocols with institutions from 29 countries.

With regard to outgoing students, the School sent 107 students on mobility in 2015-2016: 88 under the Erasmus+ Program (programme of the European Union to support education, training, youth and sports for the 2014-2020 period) and the remaining students were from Brazil, Macao and Portugal (mobility under the Vasco da Gama programme).

With regard to incoming students, the ESEnfC welcomed 101 mobility students: 64 under the Erasmus + programme, 28 from Brazilian universities, four from Macao and five from Portugal.

With regard to teacher mobility, the EsenfC sent 41 teachers and received 33 teachers. As for non-teaching staff, the ESEnfC sent four professionals on mobility.

The International Week had the participation of Sérgio de Almeida, an expert from the Camões Institute, Pilar Bravo, the responsible for the Erasmus+ National Agency; Anne de Brito and Caroline Florindo, teachers of the Institut de Formation Interhospitalier Théodore Simon.

The President of the ESEnfC, Maria da Conceição Bento, and the representative of the School’s National and International Relations Office (GRNI), Professor Susana Duarte, intervened at the opening session of the International Day.

During the afternoon, there were several moments of sharing of mobility experiences, both by students (outgoing and incoming students) and teaching and non-teaching staff members.

In addition, a cultural showcase was organised by students from Spain, Belgium, Brazil, Estonia, Finland, France and Portugal.
