Project Summary
Under the slogan “prepare for safety,” the Project aims to improve the management of care quality and safety in initial and lifelong education.
One in ten hospitalized patients experiences an adverse event that can be prevented in 50% of the cases. Raising (future) health professionals’ awareness to improving their safety system is an educational objective, both during initial and lifelong education.
From this educational point of view, digital educational methods such as e-learning and simulation can address the actual aspects of patient safety and offer the possibility to know and experience the sociocultural aspects of patient safety in an innovative way.
This project aims to develop a platform for training focused on quality care management and patient safety. The platform will be available to both faculty and students. This simulation-based training will prepare professionals capable of promoting patient safety, according to international guidelines and recommendations, thus reducing the gap between the skills needed in clinical practice and the curricula available.
