Portugal + Igual: Plan to Fight Discrimination
Law no. 38/2018, of 7 August, has established the right to self-determination of gender identity and gender expression and the right to the protection of every person’s sexual characteristics. This bill also prohibits discrimination and legitimizes gender identity, including protection measures and guarantees within several contexts.
The Portugal + Igual strategy comprehends the Action Plan to Fight Discrimination in relation to Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sexual Characteristics 2018-2021. One of its strategical objectives is to fight discrimination in relation to these factors and to prevent all forms of violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and intersex people in private and public life.
Recommendation to the Higher Education Institutions within the scope of Law no. 38/2918, of 7 August
