The firm and wiling commitment of UICISA: E has increased the interest of institutions and external researchers to be part of the team for the 2018-2022 period, not only due to its ability to aggregate and empower critical mass, but also to the external recognition of its research activities.

UICISA: E legal bodies

The managing bodies are: Scientific Coordinator; Scientific Committee; Scientific Board; Administrative Committee; and External Advisory Board (EAB).

External Advisory Committee

In accordance with the Judicial Regulation of Scientific Research Institutions (Decree Law no. 125/99) and the Regulation of the Pluriannual Funding of R&D Units, units must establish a permanent external scientific advisory committee (CEPAC), composed of idividuals whose merit has been acknowledged, and which should include foreign researchers.

In order to comply with this demand, subparagraph 6.5 of the Statutes of the Health Sciences Research Unit: Nursing, refers to the External Advisory Committee, composed of five PhD Professors, including foreign researchers. This Committee is responsible for analysing the way in which the Unit functions, and so it should visit the Unit annually, as well as deliver a written opinion on the annual plan and activity report and the Unit's budget to be sent to the FCT.
